The OST for this drama was very enjoyable and I think one of the true strengths lie within the cinematography and costumes. All the kisses and particularly the steamy ones can make a difference. I think that as characters, Liang Chen and Lu Jing were very compatible and I like the idea of unknowingly making a difference in someone’s life by a chance encounter. Although, there wasn’t much growth amongst the characters as individuals, it wasn’t like the drama torpedoed the end with proper nonsense (looking at you So I Married The Anti-fan). The sheer force of my entertainment came from the fact that the leads had a really great chemistry and sometimes that is just enough. Predictable twists and turns came to be, but it was still enough to keep me entertained. After they met in person, the romance picked up tremendously and honestly, it was what we were here for. It took our leads about eight or so episodes to meet each other irl outside of the game which gave me trauma flashbacks to I Will Never Let You Go which had us go a solid twelve episodes with our leads separated, but at least this one wasn’t in the middle of the story. We fell into your standard tropes that were done just about average.
Also throughout my tenure with this drama, I soldily confirmed that I am not the biggest fan of e-sports or dramas that heavily feature gaming as added requirements to their story.įrom a story perspective, I could honestly say that there wasn’t much to it.
